COOLING TOWERS
Recent building closure during the COVID-19 pandemic have created a prime environment for the growth and spread of the Legionella bacteria. As buildings starts to reopen after their plumbing systems here sat dormant or underused for months, every person is at risk of developing “Legionnaires” disease, which is a respiratory illness with symptoms similar to COVID-19 and Pneumonia. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is now recommending a Legionella-Test before buildings are reopened following a shutdown to minimize the risk of Legionnaires disease and other disease associated with water.
It would be very unfortunate for Legionnaires disease to become an increased risk, as we work to reopen our economy and businesses. Every building owner should consider taking a water sample and test with very simple Legiotest® while reopening their ideal building in order to protect the health and safety of millions.
